For me making jewelry is not just an art, but a meditation. Each piece is a unique work requiring not just many hours, but many moments: every stitch of embroidery, every glass bead, each like a carefully chosen word in a story.
I believe that by weaving with intention, we transform raw materials into sacred artifacts. Earrings, necklaces and talismans can be more than just beautiful: they can be powerful symbols for empowerment. For many cultures throughout time and space, what we wear helps to create who we are, and so I take care to craft pieces which inspire peace, compassion, and connectedness.
As with all my art, my methods strive to be as earth-conscious as possible, and so I employ up-cycled and sustainable materials. Insects of North America is my second original collection of earrings from the North America series. In this collection I represent the different magnificent and most iconic insects of this part of the world. I’m inspired by the diversity in their colors and their exquisite patterns. Using insect guides and photographs, I create my own abstract patterns that resemble our beloved Monarchs, Swallowtails, Mourning Cloaks and so many more!
These collection is made using Toho Round glass beads of diverse shines and finishes. I exclusively use stainless steel hooks so that nobody gets any allergies!
