Refugio

A place where we all can create freely.

Coming up soon!

In the summer of 2022 my partner and I purchased a few acres in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, right by the Porcupine Mountains Wilderness State Park. Tom, Reynard (our beloved puppy) and I had been fantasizing about living in the woods for a long time. Somehow the planets aligned, we got lucky and we found our dreamed place! Little by little we’ve been improving the land and our plan is to transform this place into a beautiful Art and Music retreat were every creative soul can come and find some peace and inspiration to free themselves!

During 2023 we’ll be preparing spaces where creators can camp and possibly a couple of accommodations for a longer stay.

‘’At roughly 60,000 acres, Porcupine Mountains Wilderness State Park is Michigan’s largest state park and one of the few remaining large wilderness areas in the Midwest. It's home to a 35,000-acre old-growth forest, roaring waterfalls, miles of rivers and streams, more than 90 miles of hiking trails, a modern and rustic campground, backcountry camping, the Lake Superior shoreline and stunning vistas.’’

We would like to offer the space that many of us need to feel connected to Nature again. In Refugio, we want to share useful skills and with open hearts to learn what others want to teach us. The forest is our classroom, our grocery store, our pharmacy, our sacred space and our sanctuary. We’ve been truly fortunate to find such a pristine and pure piece of land and we can only show our gratitude by sharing it with others.
